Galvanic corrosion occurs when two different types of metal come into contact in a conductive environment like saltwater, causing one of the metals to corrode. Tef-Gel protects against galvanic corrosion by coating the surfaces of the metal and keeping saltwater out. The layer of Tef-Gel also works as a friction barrier between mating surfaces, preventing seizing and galling.
Tef-Gel is great for protecting against corrosion between stainless steel hardware and aluminum Watertight Enclosures but you can use it anywhere saltwater touches joining metals. It’s waterproof and food grade making it safe to use in many environments.
